A Split Decision

I'm self diagnosed with a split personality. I've always been split with what decision is the 'right' decision.  House on land or urban apartment?  Little black dress or jeans and a t-shirt? Fast paced career or happy homemaker?  Vegan or meat? Weight training or Yoga?    We only get one shot at life, right?  That's a lot of pressure to make the 'right' decision the first time, especially when I tend to do things so much better on my second try.   So what's a girl (or guy) to do.  This is where my first quotable piece of advice is applied..."Make 'a' decision and 'then' make it the right one."  Get it?  There may be more than one correct answer, so just pick one, own it, make it work.  The beauty of this philosophy: worst case scenario, you just change your mind and start over.

How do I know this is a winning practice? Because I went from this:

Business Me

To this:

Yoga Loving Personal Trainer Me

While I originally thought Business Me was a decision I was trapped into until retirement, after a lot of diagramming and girls-night-out counseling (the absolute best kind!), I suspected that I could reinvent Business Me into a far more suitable Me that turned what I loved (fitness & healthy living) into something that I could share with others while simultaneously building a career.  So that's what I did.  And boy am I glad that I did!

So, now that I'm training an AMAZING group of people (seriously, I have the most amazing clients that inspire me every day!!!), I'd like to have a place to post the occasional 'try this on your own' type of workout or 'eat this if you want to try something super healthy that will blow your mind' kind of recipe.  But mostly, I want to be able to share my split personality decisions with you so that we may counsel each other into making some 'right' choices...or at least making SOME choices and then owning them like we never had a doubt.

I am ecstatic to begin this journey & I can't wait to hear from you!

  1. Cool! I love when people reinvent themselves. I recently decided to reignite my passion for making jewelry and trust God with the results. You can't go wrong when you follow your heart, especially if you feel promptings from the Big Guy.

Would love to follow your blog, but there's no "Follow" button other than email, and I get way too many of those. Let me know if you add a follow button so I can add you to my list. And, please feel free to visit me at Belle West. I think it was 'Ant' Salaman who referred me to your blog, btw...

  2. I think there are so many benefits and treasures in both decisions you are faced.. I believe you have to try and do both... Why not do Weights and Yoga, maybe there is a way to have an Urban Loft and Country Retreat...regarding the Jeans or Dress that is why the Oscars have so many wardrobe changes... I agree their are a lot of decisions but not all of them need to be split...I never would of thought I could actually have a job that I can where sneakers too!!

    1. You are absolutely right. Sometimes the right choice is to balance multiple choices. The idea is to just make a decision with confidence and go with it. Thx for the insight!
